Genod Droog
BBC Electric Proms: Next Stage
Genod Droog played as part of the Next Stage gig on Sunday 29 October. See photos of everyone who played.
According to the information we've received the origins of Genod Droog can be traced to a police cell in Cardiff. That's where Dutch DJ Kim De Bills met Mr Phormula, an American born Welsh bred rapper, when both were wrongly accused of being football hooligans. Later that evening they chanced upon a smooth lounge trio, made up of a Welsh poet and two Korean brothers, and soon after Genod Droog was born.
Genod Droog performed their first ever gig on top of Snowdonia
, the highest mountain in England and Wales, which led to a record deal with Welsh label, Slacyr Records
. They've just spent a few weeks in France recording their debut album, in between sampling the local wine.
Genod Droog were selected for Next Stage by the C2 show on BBC Radio Cymru
.
