BBC Electric Proms: Next Stage
FOUND played as part of the Next Stage gig on Sunday 29 October. See photos of everyone who played.
FOUND met at Art college in Aberdeen in 2001 and have been collaborating on various audio and visual projects ever since. Now based in Edinburgh, the band appeared at several Scottish festivals this year including Triptych
and T in the Park
. They fuse acoustic sounds with live sampling and electronic manipulation to make music that moves from mellow jazz to acid electro.
FOUND endeavor to incorporate everything they love about contemporary music production (lo/hi technologies, bizarre instruments and charismatic performance) into their live set. They've been compared to The Beta Band
, Beck
and Tom Waits
.
FOUND were selected for Next Stage by Vic Galloway on BBC Scotland
.
For their Next Stage workshop, FOUND will be spending three days developing a unique multi-media performance with award-winning comedians and video artists Noble & Silver
. This will culminate in a show which combines FOUND's unique approach to making music with Noble & Silver's
surreal and unique performance style and promises to be an experience like no other gig you go to this year (or ever!)
