Success is when I see all those people standing out there in front of me having a good time
Jamiroquai
Wednesday 25 October 2006
Jazz Cafe“, Camden, London
Jay Kay was over the moon to be back at a venue he hadn't played since 1992. He clearly had a deep affection for the place that had helped break him into stardom all those years ago. He repeatedly told the crowd how much fun he was having and attempted, with limited success, to tell jokes and entertain the crowd with amusing stories in-between songs.
But it was the music that really won the crowd over as he played a greatest hits set, including 'Virtual Insanity', and finishing with 'Emergency On Planet Earth'.
Set list:
High Times
Space Cowboy
If I like It I Do It
Emergency on Planet Earth
Seven Days in Sunny June
Black Capricorn Day
Canned Heat
Use The Force
Travelling Without Moving
Runaway
Virtual Insanity

Success is when I hear other fans expressing their exact same extreme feelings of intense pleasure and joy of a live Jamiroquai performance. True artists, excellent musicians, and our fantastic back up singers did us proud once more. And from what I was told by our solid representation of the Jamiroquai on-line community 'Jamily' on the front barrier at the Jazz Cafe, that 'Sir' JK's jokes weren't that bad.

I grew up with Jamiroquai songs being references to certain times in my life, so to see Jay Kay and the band clos up on Wednesday night was something very special...Thanks Jamiroquai and thanks the BBC Electric Proms organizers..

I'm so glad the full gig was posted here. I never get a chance to see jamiroquai live and this was the next best thing. I have always loved the band and thought this line up was exceptional! Wish I was there! Long live Jamiroquai!

I LOVE Jamiroquai, and unfortunatley didn't get a ticket, but did watch it on the beeb and it rocked. My only complaint was where were classic tunes from the first album such as 'When you gonna learn', 'Too young to die' and 'Blow your mind', would've been the perfect set if he had done these as well

I think Jay Kay is an outstanding performer. And he doesn't let you down with this performance! Watched it about 3 times now!! I feel so gutted that I couldn't get the tickets to this gig!! Electric Proms ROCK!

This band are evidently the best band in the World. Yeah, he gets into trouble but no-one can doubt his ability as the only true 70's style funkster that remains. Keep doing what you're doing! (:

Absolutly Spot On, brought back memories when The Man played some really early jazzy Old skool toons as well.. Nuff said . . . .

Brilliant...it's so refreshing to hear quality rather than the wishy-washy rubbish that proliferates the charts these days.

Amazing performance as always!! He doesnt age! Gutted i wasnt there!! Cant believe jamiroquai wrote some of those songs 15 years ago and still nothing has changed in the world, he knows so much, but it seems that no-one stops to listen to what he is actually saying in his songs. There's meaning behind all his tracks! But still the world is blind. x

Loving it! Great to see that they can still do it....every band should have a kick ass horn section!

Jamiroquai has been one of the most accomplished artists since they arrived on the seen in the early 90's. And they still are. What a great collection of work they have put together over the years and still produce a fantastic live show. Jamiroquai deserves plenty of plaudits. Their quality continues to shine through with the longevity of their career and timelessness of the music. Long may they continue!

This is great, the songs are sounding amazing and it's a funk-fest that the BBC electric proms should be given top marks !

I really enjoyed Jamiroquai's gig. It made me wish that I was there. Also Jay Kay would make a good stand up comedian.
