Playing live is all about the vibe. You can’t fake it and you can't learn how to create it.
Jamie T
Thursday 26 October 2006
Main Space, Roundhouse
Twenty year old Jamie T and his band more than live up to the hype with an entertaining performance in the Main Space. As Jamie raps about everyday South London life over an acoustic bass, it's easy to see why he's been compared to Bob Dylan
, Billy Bragg
and The Streets
.
Damon Albarn and Paul Simonon of The Good, The Bad and The Queen are spotted enjoying the music from the wings as 'Northern Line' gets a warm reception from the crowd. Jamie performs a solo acoustic version of 'Back In The Game' before the band come back for a show stealing rendition of 'Sheila'.
Afterwards Jamie described the gig as "un-nerving but a great experience."
Set List:
Calm Down Dearest
Ike and Tina
So Lonely Was The Ballad
Salvador
Northern Line
If You Got The Money
Back In The Game
Operation
Sheila
Brand New Bass Guitar
