There aren't any bands around doing what we're doing...
John Peel Night:
The Horrors
Thursday 26 October 2006
Electric Ballroom, Camden, London
The Horrors consist of the wonderfully named Faris Rotter, Coffin Joe, Spider Webb, Tomethy Furse and Joshua Von Grimm. Their Zombie Garage rock sounds like a fight between The Cramps
, 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster
and The Stooges
.
Gigs have been chaotic, often only lasting 15 minutes due to stage invasions and audience injuries. "They look awful and sound terrible - but so did the Sex Pistols." says the NME's editor, who put The Horrors on the magazine's cover. The band have already played a sell out gig at London's 100 Club where fans were queuing round the block for five hours before the band hit the stage.
The Horrors played as part of Radio 1's second John Peel Night at the Electric Proms.

the horrors are amazing, there truly is no bands doing what they're doing. I love them so much, it was soooo good.

This band is seriously poor quality; And I think its an insult that the BBC would even let them perform on the same bill as so many fantastic artists like Nitin Sawhney and Damon Albarn. Although the sex pistols were also bad musicians at least they had something of interest, the horrors are a terrible band. As usual the NME thinks they’re good even though their music is rubbish and their lyrics sound like they were written by a group of 5year olds pretending to be in a band. From the look of them they spend most of their time doing their hair and deciding what to wear, in the hope that at least they can look ‘cool’ and of course in the eyes of the NME this more than makes up for the bands lack of talent. Shame on you BBC for allowing these losers to grace the stage
