EastEnders triumphed at the Inside Soap awards on Monday 28 September 2009. The show won Best Soap, as well as a host of other top gongs.

Lacey Turner picked up Best Actress for her portrayal of troubled Stacey Slater. Lacey has won numerous awards for her role as strong-willed Stacey, and has recently tackled the high-profile storyline of mental illness, where she's spiralled out of control with bipolar disorder.

Larry Lamb picked up the award for Best Bad Boy for his role as scheming Archie Mitchell. The charasmatic actor was rewarded for Archie's part in Danielle's tragic storyline, not to mention his stormy relationship with Peggy Mitchell.

Probably as big a hit with the fellas as he is with the ladies, John Partridge's turn as Christian Clarke has won him many fans. We're pretty sure Syed thinks he's hot!

Charlie Brooks slapped down all the competition for her portrayal of manipulative Janine Butcher. Never short of a catty comment, Janine has recently become part of a dodgy-dealing double act with Ryan Malloy.

The dramatic, Dannielle, Ronnie and Archie storyline earlier this year certainly struck a chord with viewers. The revelations and trauma that led to Danielle's tragic death under the wheel's of Janine's car was unsurprisingly a clear winner.

Kara Tointon dazzled the voters with Dawn's dress sense. The glamorous actress was never short of a fetching outfit to parade around Walford, including a magnificent wedding dress for her big day with Garry.
"It's great to keep winning all these awards for EastEnders, " Executive Producer Diederick Santer told us after the ceremony. "These ones are voted for by soap fans. So not only are we doing great business with the mass audience, but also the soap connisseurs seem to think we're doing something right too."
"We've got a great autumn in the can, and with filming now underway for our typically cataclysmic Christmas, it looks like 2009 is going to be another strong year for EastEnders, " he added.
Soap fans voted from July 2009 to determine who walked away with awards and EastEnders were shortlisted with 19 nominations.
