Gloves
Pete 'Gloves' Glover

Gloves

You need that something special to be a goalkeeper - a unique quality. But the truth is, most goalies are complete fruitcakes. Follow lower league goalkeeper Peter Glover in the twilight of his career, battling younger rivals and his aging limbs.

Comedy winner

Gloves was written, produced and directed by Andy Williams, Terry Busby and Nick Hodder.

They are not lifelong filmmakers, but comedy writers and performers. Gloves was born out of a desire to deliver their comedy writing as a finished product, rather than a script. It was filmed on location at Woking FC.

Mark Kermode's view: "For someone who has never really enjoyed or understood sport, I laughed out loud at this satirical soccer documentary, or 'mockumentary'. A good comedy idea, well executed. So congratulations to Nick Hodder and Toffee Gunn Productions."
