Explore Badbury Rings near Wimborne and go back 10,000 years in history. This walk also skirts around the Kingston Lacy estate, along the Stour Valley Way and ends up at the village of Shapwick.

Advice: Dogs not allowed along the Stour riverbank.
In brief: This is a walk of around five to six miles, with no hills to speak of and so is suitable for all levels of fitness. Start the walk in the Badbury Rings car park - a National Trust maintained site with helpful information on notice boards.

Start: Start the walk at the Badbury Rings Car Park. Getting there: Bus: Wilts & Dorset 132/3, 182/3 from Bournemouth, Poole, alight Wimborne Square 2½ml. Rail: Station: Poole 8½ml. Road: On B3082 Blandford-Wimborne road, 1½ml West of Wimborne Minster.
Points of interest: Walk up the hill fort which is estimated to have been occupied for 10,000 years. Visit National Trust property of Kingston Lacy House and the village of Pamphill.
