02
Jubilant that Lesterson has given them everything they need, the Daleks chorus, 'We will get our power! We will get our power!'

03
Alarmed, Lesterson goes over to their power supply and turns it down.

04
'We are your servants,' one of the Daleks reminds Lesterson. The Daleks promise to continue building a meteor shield for the colony if the power is turned back on.

05
'I'm glad we understand each other,' says Lesterson. 'We understand the human mind,' replies the Dalek.

06
In the governor's office, Valmar the engineer is installing new equipment for Bragen.

07
Bragen, the ambitious head of security, is standing in for the governor while he's away.

08
Bragen is not happy when the Doctor bursts in.

09
The Doctor compliments Bragen on his nice new uniform...

10
... then demands his help in finding the kidnapped Polly.

11
Much to the Doctor's alarm, a Dalek glides in with a tray of drinks. 'Do I bring liquid for your visitors?' it asks.

12
Worried, the Doctor leaves Bragen's office, wondering where the Daleks are getting their power supply from.

13
Bragen takes a call from Hensell, the governor. He'll be returning from his tour of the colony in a day or two.

14
Finishing his call, Bragen is startled to find a Dalek hovering behind him. 'Have you finished your liquid?' it asks.

15
Two of the colony's rebels, Janley and Kebble, meet to check a coded message on a noticeboard.

16
The Doctor and Ben march past, the Doctor trying to work out how the Daleks are converting the colony's power into Dalek static electricity.

17
He's alarmed that the three Daleks from the spacecraft have been given the run of the colony.

18
Especially when he realises...

19
... that there are now more than three Daleks.

20
The Doctor pauses to inspect the colony noticeboard, curiously.

21
Janley and Lesterson are working to ensure the Daleks have everything they need to build their meteor shield.

22
Lesterson is becoming increasingly worried by how much material the Daleks are using. What are they doing with it?

23
He's beginning to think the strange Examiner was right about the Daleks. He decides to talk with him.

24
Janley stops him, telling him that his assistant Resno was killed by the Daleks earlier. If Lesterson doesn't co-operate, she'll tell the colony it was his fault.

25
Lesterson is appalled by her blackmail. Janley says she's doing it in the name of science. The Daleks must have everything they need.

26
The Doctor bursts in, demanding to know if Lesterson realises the Daleks have been multiplying. 'The Daleks are brilliant engineers. Nothing is beyond them, given the right materials.'

27
Appalled, Lesterson collapses when the Doctor leaves. Janley soothes the scientist, and gives him a sedative.

28
Janley and Valmar assure the Daleks that they can have everything they need in return for their help.

29
The Doctor has worked out from the noticeboard when the rebels' secret meeting is.

30
He and Ben sneak in, and overhear the rebels planning in front of their unknown leader.

31
Janley explains how the Daleks can help their cause.

32
Valmar demonstrates how he has fitted a Dalek with a gun that he controls.

33
He reckons the gun can only be fired when he activates it.

34
At Valmar's command, the weapon destroys a thick metal sheet.

35
The rebels are alarmed. What is to prevent the Dalek from killing one of them?

36
As a test, Valmar commands the Dalek to kill Janley. It refuses.

37
The rebels hear a noise.

38
The Doctor and Ben realise they have been discovered. Ben rushes out from his hiding place.

39
The rebels take Ben away, leaving the Dalek alone with the mysterious rebel leader.

40
The Doctor emerges from his hiding place and talks to the rebels' leader ... who is revealed as Bragen. Bragen thinks he controls the Daleks, the rebels and the colony.

41
The Doctor doubts Bragen would be able to stop the Dalek from killing him. But instead, Bragen has him arrested.

42
Deputy Governor Quinn is alarmed to be joined in his cell by the Doctor.

43
Quinn is alarmed to discover the Doctor isn't the real Examiner - he's simply pretending to be the man Bragen had killed.

44
The Doctor is intrigued by the sonic lock on his cell.

45
With Ben, Polly, the Doctor and Quinn all held captive, there is nothing to stop Bragen from taking over the colony.

46
In Lesterson's laboratory, the Daleks plot to keep watch on the colonists.

47
Lesterson wakes up and remains hidden, horrified by what he hears.

48
Now he knows the Daleks are evil.

49
Fearfully, he creeps into the Dalek capsule.

50
He passes through a secret passage deep into the bowels of the craft.

51
He stumbles into a control room...

52
... where the Daleks are overseeing a production plant...

53
... to build more Daleks.

54
Lesterson watches in horror as the Dalek casings pour off the conveyor belt.

55
Seething, bubbling Dalek creatures...

56
... are scooped up ...

57
... and placed in Dalek casings.

58
Once the top is fitted ...

59
... a new Dalek is complete.

60
As the Daleks pour off the production line...

61
...the Dalek army grows stronger.

NEXT: Will Lesterson escape with his life?
