Ever since I was a tiny tot, I've sung a lot. Later I learned to play the piano, Then the guitar. I just want a chance to shine, With my music, Like a star, Like my name: Astra.

Tell us some interesting facts about Astra.. Astra Dolphin is my real name, I was born in 1979 and I'm one of triplets.
From an early age, I've always loved performing and found that music was what I wanted to be involved in and that it was a way of expressing myself.
After having piano lessons and teaching myself the guitar, I decided 'that's what I'm going to do'. I can even get a tune out of a trumpet!
I like juggling (no more than three balls though!) and I dislike pomegranates!

What's the song you've chosen to demo? It's called Take Me.
It's a song about acceptance as a person and what you believe in, whether to be yourself or you have something to offer. A talent perhaps. What are your views on the current music scene? At the moment I feel the scene is changing. More 'proper' bands and artists are emerging - rather than those manufactured groups even though to a certain extent all are manufactured, if you catch my drift.
Who would you list among your influences? The Corrs, Robbie Williams, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, The Beatles, Anastacia, Shania Twain, Texas, Prince, Pink, Dido and Scissor Sisters - to name a few!
I would love to perform with Robbie Williams as he always seems to captivate an audience and all around him.

If you could invite three people to a dinner party - who would you ask and why? Toad from Wind in the Willows as I used to collect toads and frogs and he seems like a jolly fellow.
Robbie Williams - isn't it obvious!
Our creator - to ask why?
What are the highs and lows of living in Devon? I'm based in and around the Exeter area and, yes there are lows being in Devon - especially as an original artist.
I've been up and down to London and had meetings with music companies - and so many times I've been told 'Devon isn't where it's happening'.
But in 2004 I went to a music symposium in Dartington, where top music guests were invited.
Therefore I think we need to help promote these kind of events so we build up a relationship within the Devon area to show that talent CAN be found in the smaller surrounding counties, if you'd care to visit.
Well we can't disagree with that!
