Challaborough beach is a sheltered horseshoe shaped cove made up of excellent fine sand. It's situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At low tide, there are plenty of interesting rock pools to explore or alternatively you could take to the coastal path and stroll along the commanding cliffs of the South Devon coast. The cove lends itself well to watersports and the nearby Holiday Park ensures that guests are never short of entertainment. The beach experiences swells and shore breaks and as a result is especially popular with surfers. It sometimes hosts top class surf competitions. During the summer months safety is enhanced by the regular presence of lifeguards. There is a cafe, toilets and first aid facilities. There is also a car park. How to get there: From the A379 between Modbury and Aveton Gifford, turn onto the B3392 towards Bigbury.
