Q: Tell us about yourself.
A: I'm Ellie Elworthy, I'm 24, and I live in Swimbridge in North Devon. I love having the countryside on my doorstep, but there is a very quiet music scene here.

Q: And what about your music?
A: I've been writing songs for the past five or six years. I play the piano and trumpet, and I gig whenever I can. I'm a solo singer-songwriter and I'm simply known as Ellie.

Q: Which three words best describe your music?
A: Folky, jazzy, mellow.

Q: Which track have you selected to demo?
A: It's a song called Maybe, which I wrote while studying music at North Devon College. It's about the lonely moments we all feel at times.

Q: Whose records do you have in YOUR collection?
A: My collection ranges from the early 1930s to the present. I love Eva Cassidy, Bob Dylan, Ray Lamontagne, and I would love to perform with Jamie Cullum or Jools Holland.

Q: What do you think of the current music scene?
A: I think it's great! There's loads of variety and I love new artists like Amy MacDonald and The Plain White Ts.

Q: Complete the sentence: When I become famous...
A: ...I'd love to set up my own studio, tour, and one day I'd love to influence other potential artists.

A: I believe I have a lot to offer the music industry. My music appeals to a wide audience. I live for performing and writing music and I will put my all into making it BIG!
