Devon indie rockers Muse have a busy summer lined up with a series of major outdoor gigs, including an appearance at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

The gig, on Tuesday 22nd August 2006, is part of the annual Eden Sessions.

The Teignmouth trio then headline the Carling Weekend at Reading on 26th August and Leeds Festival the following day.

The band - Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard - will be playing tracks from their new album, Black Holes and Revelations, released in July.

The group combine guitars, lush pianos, and lavish orchestral arrangements, but it's Matt Bellamy's vocals which give them their distinctive sound.

Their anthemic style has drawn comparisons with Radiohead and Pink Floyd.

Muse top off a 2006 Sessions line-up that also includes Goldfrapp, Snow Patrol and The Magic Numbers.

Swedish-Argentine singer-songwriter José González will be special guest to The Magic Numbers, Ladytron will support Goldfrapp and Liam Frost and the Slowdown Family and Rocco DeLuca will support Snow Patrol.

Support for the Muse Session will be by a local band chosen in a competition.

Eden are delighted at capturing Muse for the sessions. The band are renowned for their live performances and won a Brit Award for Best Live Act in 2005.

Peter Hampel, Eden's Creative Development Director, said: "We sold out the other three Sessions some time back and there's been eager anticipation and a lot of speculation about who the last headliner might be.

"Well now it's out and we know another sell-out is assured. It's been a long time in the planning, but the timing couldn't be better with the new album coming out.

"We've worked on the arena during the winter to increase capacity and make Eden an even better place to see the best. We can't wait for Muse to play here."

Tickets for Muse are on sale from 25th June.
