Hi
I was wondering if you had any contact with the organisers in the Irish Centre in Derby for the Rose of Tralee contest. I would like to pass on my congratulations and best wishes to Nicola when she represents UK in August. Thing is, I was in Newcastle the weekend she got picked. I would love to have seen her. I was at school with her and haven't seen her since then. Hope she is doing well.

Hi Nicky, no words of wisdom really, just wanted to say good luck, I entered the Derby Rose competition a few years ago but didn't even win that. Needless to say I'm really jealous of you and really hope that you win.

Good luck to you Nicola, I remember the last time that Derby had a contestant in the Rose competition in Tralee. It was back in 1992 a young lady called Marty who worked at the University. She didn't win but maybe you can do it. Looking at your photos on the BBC Derby website you look very graceful but I hear you have a very confident, bubbly manner.

Do your best girl!

Hello there Nicola, I was at the Derby competition back in May, I was there with my Grandma. You were great, very confident and happy on the stage. I think that it helps that you still have your Irish accent. Good luck in Tralee. I'm going to enter when I'm old enough. What advice have you got?

lots of love
