BBC Radio Derby's Carol Service

Make sure you're in your seats good and early for this popular Christmas Carol Service.

This year, BBC Radio Derby's Carol Service will take place at Derby Cathedral on Wednesday 17th December at 7.30pm.

Your presenter will be the Rev Tony Luke - who once sang opera for the X factor Judges, and who will sing a solo for you on the night.

Also singing will be Lucy Ward, who is one of the finalists in the BBC's Young Folk Musician of the year and will know know the result by 17th!

The new Dean of Derby, Rev Dr Jeff Cuttell will be giving the address -BBC Radio Derby presenters Johnny Kinch, Aleena Naylor, Charles Collins and ed George will be among the readers.

No tickets are required, but it would be wise to arrive as early as you can, and you'll need to be in your seat by 7.15 at the very latest, in time for a brief rehearsal.

And of course your voice will add to the proceedings, and help the Cathedral Voluntary Choir make the sort of sounds you'd like to hear when you tune in on Christmas Eve at 6pm or Christmas Day at noon.
