Falcons on film

A camera has been installed at Derby Cathedral to film a pair of Peregrine falcons who have built their nest in the bell tower.

Two cameras at different angles will allow people to see what the falcons are up to as we head towards nesting season.

They were installed by Nick Moyes from Derby Museum who had to abseil down the tower to do it.

The nesting platform is about half way down the tower and the falcons are continuing to take local wild birds for food.

The birds have a magnificent view from the top of the tower - enabling them to see prey all over the city centre!

BBC Radio Derby's Andy Whittaker climbed the cathedral tower to find out more about the new cameras.
