First minister's questions
Reorganisation plans for health services in south Wales will be announced "by the end of the month", according to the first minister.
Carwyn Jones was responding to members' questions on 14 May 2013.
Plaid Cymru South Wales West AM Bethan Jenkins asked for "a statement on the proposed reorganisation of health care services across south Wales known as the South Wales Programme".
Whilst promising the report by the end of May 2013, the first minister said that it would "put forward a preferred option" for reorganisation.
The conservatives' health spokesperson Darren Millar asked whether it was the right time to discuss reorganisation "with emergency services demand on the rise … and the college of medicine describing services as at a point of meltdown".
The conservatives are calling on the government to "abandon" any reorganisation plans for south Wales.
The first minister said "doing absolutely nothing" was the "lazy approach" and an "approach this government will not take".
Amongst other topics discussed were child poverty and the future of the construction sector.
Leader of the House Lesley Griffiths then made a statement on assembly business and responded to requests from members for statements and debates.
