Boss: What do you mean you haven’t finished it yet? You’ve spent weeks on this report.

Employee: Yeah, I know, sorry, but it’s been a busy time.

Boss: Well, when will you have finished it?

Employee: I think I’ll have written the first half by the day after tomorrow.

Boss: And the second half?

Employee: Well, I’ll have done all the research by the end of the week.

Boss: So, can I have the full report by next Wednesday?

Employee: Oh no, I’m sorry. I won’t have finished it by then. I’m going on holiday on Saturday morning.

Boss: What?!

Šéfová se rozčiluje, protože jeden ze zaměstnanců nedokončil včas zprávu a ptá se ho: When will you have finished it? Kdy to dopíšete?

Ptá se tu, kdy něco v budoucnu - do určitého okamžiku - skončí, a v takovém případě se v angličtině užívá předbudoucí čas - the future perfect.

Podřízený odpověděl: I’ll have written the first half by the day after tomorrow (Pozítří dopíšu první polovinu).

Předbudoucí čas se skládá se z will a příčestí trpného: I’ll have written.
