Phil remembers the battle itself as being very quick. He also remembers how excited he felt when he knew it was time to go home and the gratitude he was shown by the air crew who were so pleased to be able to go back to their country and see what was left behind.
Phil is a Gulf War veteran – he joined the army in the 1970s. He currently lives at Cleator Moor with his two dogs and works at Sellafield.
