Phil describes the surprising feeling of emptiness he had when he returned from the Gulf War. He also remembers the long hours, the sound of alarms going off and the constant anxiousness he felt inside.
Phil is a Gulf War veteran – he joined the army in the 1970s. He currently lives at Cleator Moor with his two dogs and works at Sellafield.
