The studios of BBC Radio Cumbria were visited by John Inverdale on day four of his one-man mission to urge the nation to sign up for the Sport Relief Mile on Saturday 15th July. The whistle stop tour of over 24 radio stations in seven days saw John start the day in Glasgow before travelling via Carlisle to Blackburn, Manchester, Stoke and Shrewsbury.  | | On your marks... outside Carlisle Castle |

To show how easy it is to take part in the Sport Relief mile John went on a short jog around Carlisle Castle with BBC staff, Jemma Bellingham, Carmel O'Grady and sports reporter James Phillips. Half was spent in the UK and half went to help people in the poorest countries in the world. Sport Relief Saturday will culminate in a fantastic, star-studded night of television entertainment on the BBC. In the build up to the big day, two hour-long documentaries follow the fortunes of the Sport Relief Redsocks as they tour India to see for themselves how your money is spent and why it is so badly needed. Chris Evans, Dermot O'Leary and Patrick Kielty are among those who join former cricketers Phil Tufnel and Jack Russell in 'All Out for India'. There will also be celebrity show-jumping, a special edition of A Question of Sport, All Star Boxing, Celebrity Mastermind and a whole host of other televisual treats.
