I hope that you can help me! My 93 year old grandmother used to work at Witherley Hall, Atherstone in 1923.
Can you suggest anywhere where I can find up-to-date information about the hall? She has very clear memories of the Chamberlain Family and the hall, it would really make an old lady very happy to find out if the hall is even still standing. Michele D. Green
I am trying to locate anyone who used to be in 1st Bedworth Girls' Brigade company at Bedworth Baptist Church in Coventry Road. On Saturday 1st March 2003 we are having a reunion evening. i am a treacle towner ! and i think cov is all right !! A Harrison Nuneaton
I can state catagorically that the rotunda in the Precinct that used to be Wimpy has never spun. I worked there during the early days, and it was not designed to do so. It used to have a spiral metal staircase running through the centre, from the cafe to the washing up area, downstairs, which would make it impossible for such a feat! Jo Vernon Coventry
Browns Coventry might well be classed as one of the finest bars in Coventry, but it is getting a bad reputation for its discriminating door policy.
I have known quite a few people that have been refused entry and no reason given and its not just in the evening but at lunchtimes as well.
It has been reported in the local press and when I confronted Browns about it, they were almost pleased with the publicity they received. If this is the finest bar in Coventry then Browns needs some healthy competition to scrap this silly attitude it as adopted. Kevin Jones Coventry
Does anybody know the answer to Paul Gaffney's earlier question about the round (Wimpy) cafe rotating?
There's a big debate in the office where I work about whether it ever did or not!! Cheryl Randle Coventry
We have had a number of enquiries about the Songs of Praise performance being released on CD and we have asked the production team to let us know what their plans are. Victoria Minett BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Website Team
Are there any plans to release a CD recording of the carols featured in the Songs Of Praise program with Pete Waterman and choir? Brilliant viewing, thank you. Andrew Sharp Location not supplied
I have to agree with Les and A Friston - the Songs of Praise from Coventry was fantastic. Really moving and touching from beginning to end. The choir were magnificent - but the rendition of Silent Night was the one that stood out for me. When the singer belted out the first note it brought a tear to my eye. Jessica Coventry
I thought that Pete Waterman's 'Songs of Praise' from Coventry Cathedral was absolutely brilliant. What he had to say about musical eduction and the benefits it can bring was spot on. I am an 'Oldie' who loves the traditional as well as appreciating the more modern church music, and I empathised totaly with what he said. The children so obviously enjoyed themselves as well. A great programme, well done. Les Dray

Would just like to say that the Songs of Praise from Coventry was magnificent, thanks. A Friston Ceredigion
I am writing on behalf of the band "Man with Van". They are a six piece ska/rock band based in Stratford upon-Avon.
At this particular moment in time they are in search for new venues to play at so as to get their name more known.
If anyone has a venue or organises a battle of the bands or ska/rock night, please email me via this website.
Thanks. Alex kehoe Stratford
Lee - you're being daft. Lights are for everyone. Half of them are for Divali anyway. They're to brighten the streets not to be religious!
But I think it's a shame to cancel it, too. Why not have it in the precinct? Sharon May Coventry
Christmas lights must have cost more than the party and I'd rather have the new year party. At least that's for everyone, not just for Christians. Lee Coventry
I can't understand the venue problem, I attended the event last year (2001) and 2000 & 1999, and have had a great time at all of them. That was in the existing precinct area, which has not changed, so in theory could hold a similar event this year.. It's a shame to cancel it. But will look forward to the one in the new place. Tim
why is there not a decent st patrick's day parade/celebration in coventry?this is one of the reasons birmingham is so much better than coventry. marion fallon Coventry

Coventry City council developers must be blind, the place is a complete mish mash of bad design Once a fantastic city of great architectual depth to a concrete misery box, it wasn't the war that destroyed the place it was the tastless council morons with power and no style who ruined it.
Germany had cities bombed to the same eqviulent but they restored their places to the highest standard and kept their past. Hopefully someone in the future for Coventry will have a sense of direction and making Coventry the place to be not a dustbin.
Remember for the future: 1.CONCRETE = NEGATIVE 2.DON'T LOOK AT BUILDING PLANS AFTER 20 PINTS.

Leamington is generally a cool town to hang but if you check it every weekend, there is nothing left to do.
Me and my mates hit the shops and then... what? We do nothing. That's cos there is nothing else to do. Maybe the council should try and make some sort of youth club or some place where teenagers can chill without having to pay loads of cash that we don't have.
And another thing - the shopkeepers should give us a break - we don't all steal and vandalise - you don't have to follow us around to make sure we're "good". Thanks!
Tami Russell Leamington
I am 14 from Coventry and I am sick of people always complaing about us hanging around on street coners.
I would like the council to set up a free computer cafe with internet in the city centre. They have computers in the main library but what teenage wants to be seen going in to a library? Daniel Gaut Coventry
I am in Germany, so I can't enter the calendar competition. Can you let me know how I can order a copy to be sent to Germany? Diana Peckham Germany

I have just managed to get an job after 6 months unemployment. The job is in Coventry city centre amd I intend to travel by bus, but on the odd time I need to use my car, Can anyone recommend any all day parking that is reasonably priced? Peter Edmondson
I was recently in Coventry and took a picture of the ECCE HOMO statue. I took a close up of the plaque that tells about the statue but it is plurry and I cannot read it. Is there someone there that can tell me what the plaques says???
How knows how long it may be before I can have the wonderful experience of being back in England!!!
Thanks for any help you can give me in this matter. Linda
Question - is Meriden also classed as furthest from coast - if not which village is?? Ian
I think it's funny that Meriden isn't in the centre of England. That was the only thing it had going for it in the first place! Paul Coventry
I would think that the centre of a country is measured from the furthest point from the edges.
Taking into account small Islands doesn't seem to make sense - if you want to know the point that is furthest from the sea. John Little Redditch
Follow the link on the left to see a new BBC report that says Meriden may not be in the centre of England, despite its claims.
Do you have a view on whether it matters if Meriden is not the centre?
Do you believe the BBC's new claims?
Should the monument in Meriden be removed?
Does Meriden's central status attract visitors that wouldn't otherwise travel to Meriden?

I have just read the review of the Colly on your site and would like to say that I disagree with 2 things.
Firstly the review says 'bouncers think we're townies and therefore, have plenty of other places to go and so don't let us in'. I would like to say that on the many occasions that I have gone to the Colly there has always been a great diversity of people in there.
Secondly, there is a statement 'if you're a regular at Diva on a Saturday night then you'll hate it'. I have to disagree as the Colly puts on a variety of nights suited to all tastes, such as the St. Trinian's night and Cheesy Pop Night's pulling people from different music tastes and clubs such as Diva.
Apart from that I would say that the review is correct and the Colly is the BEST and CHEAPEST place in Coventry to party. James Macaulay Location not supplied
I remember the old wishing well in the town, it was right next to the 21 bus stop. Lady Godiva's there now. People forever have been meeting at Owens&Owens.
