Eaten too much and partied too hard over Christmas and New Year? Then get into one of the outdoor activities at Coombe Country Park.

The programme for 2004 includes a few old favourites as well as many new activities for everyone to enjoy.

Country park workshop

Two of Coombe Country Park's most popular activities are being run again, the bat walk and fungi walk.

If you haven’t joined one of these yet, this could be the year to try them out.

In addition, two new events for 2004 are the Green Wood Crafts day, where you make a willow frame to take home for your climbing plants, and a Map Reading Day where you learn to find your way around the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.

From April 2004 Coombe will also be opening up the park’s meadow for the first time so you can see the meadow buttercup and musk mallow grow.

During May and June there will be guided walks led by the park rangers around the meadow, where you can learn all about the management of the area, its wildlife and how to identify its plants.

There are too many events in the year for us to list here, so get a copy of the programme from the park, from the tourist information centre in West Orchards or from Central Library.

More information and bookings can be made by calling 024 7645 3720 or have a look at the website linked on the left for basic details.
