Q: Name?A: Sian Grzeszczyk Q: From?A: Birmingham Q: Joined the Beeb in?A: August 2008 Q: What has your career involved so far?I've been working for BBC Coventry and Warwickshire since August 2008 and am loving every minute of it! Before starting with the BBC I gained a first class degree in Archaeology and Ancient History at Birmingham University and then spent 9 months down in picturesque Falmouth (Cornwall) doing my postgraduate in Broadcast Journalism. I joined BBC Coventry and Warwickshire for my official work placement in June/July 2008 and officially started in the newsroom the following month. Q: What does your job involve?A: In the words of Coventry Market the Musical - All kinds of everything! As Coventry and Rugby reporter I interview, report on and source stories from around the patch, usually doing live reports into the breakfast programme or pre-recorded pieces. You'll also hear me reading the news from time to time, and every so often reading sports bulletins too. Q: What do you like the most about BBC Coventry & Warwickshire?A: The team I'm a part of, the remarkable people I interview on a daily basis, and the fact that every day is completely different. Q: What's your favourite place in Coventry and Warwickshire?A: Coventry Cathedral Q: Who's your favourite person?A: Impossible to narrow it down to one person - so, collectively, my lovely Mum, Dad and brother. Q: What's your favourite hobby?A: Meeting up with my best friend Caroline - we're both as nuts as each other! I also love shopping, reading Bronte and Austen, watching period dramas, and my new resolution for '09 taking up 'running'... Q: Your favourite food?A: All things chocolate -goes without saying! (and I love Indian food -minus anything too spicy though) Q: Your favourite drink?A: Ribena - I'm addicted, thank goodness it's not alcoholic! (Am also a big fan of black tea after a study tour trip to Egypt during my degree-get through at least five cups a day) Q: Favourite song?A: Hmmm this constantly changes - although I love Take My Breath Away by Berlin, When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge and Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer. I love listening to anything by Norah Jones when winding down for the evening. Q: Favourite film?A: Haven't watched it yet... Q: Give us a fascinating fact about yourself:A: I have three z's in my surname, but ironically, people have more problems with my first name - I'm often called Shaun, or Cy-anne and on one particularly embarrassing occasion STAN!!!! last updated: 10/09/2009 at 12:07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Local Radio > Staff Profiles > Reporter profiles > Meet Sian Grzeszczyk |
