Programme Information

BBC Coventry and Warwickshire’s longest running programme, Poles Apart, is a vibrant and lively show, now in its new slot from 8–9pm every Monday. 

Poles Apart not only broadcasts locally but is regularly tuned into by many listeners both in the UK and abroad through the Internet.

In this cultural, musical and informative link to Poland, Bozena Wilson, and her team of regulars, ensure an interesting evening’s listening.

Illustrious guests on Poles Apart have included Lech Walesa, former President of Poland, and - on a musical note - members from the Myslovitz Band. 

Famous guests

Monika Rozanski, the programme’s co-presenter, whose flair for interviewing is now legendary, has talked to Film Directors such as Agnieszka Holland, and General Anders’s widow, Irena Anders - herself a revered historical figure, who enlightened listeners with her fascinating life story.

Locals also pop in for a chat, and give their views on the goings on around Coventry and Warwickshire as seen through their eyes.

Poles Apart prides itself with links to the English Section of Radio Polonia with up to date news and views on current affairs, broadcast both in Polish and English.

With part of the broadcast in English, the programme aims to capture the interest of anyone who may want to visit Poland or just learn about her rich and diverse culture. Poles Apart is there to whet their appetites too.
