After writing about 2-Tone, The Beatles and the history of Coventry music, Pete Chambers has now launched his new book. It is a photographic trip into Coventry and Warwickshire's musical past.

Talking about the inspiration behind his new project, Pete Chambers said: "After I'd written Godiva Rocks, people would ask if I was planning on a re-write to bring it up-to-date and others asked for a Best of Backbeat (Pete's local music column), so I decided to combine the two elements."

The book was recently launched at The Fletch pub in Coventry and saw some of the county's celebrated musicians turn out to celebrate Pete's new publication. Guests included Horace Panter of The Specials, Liam Watts of The Enemy, the Lord Mayor of Coventry and BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Bob Brolly - Bob has in fact written the foreword for the book. Coventry City Chairman Joe Elliott was also there to join the party. 

Music was provided by the likes of Steve and Heather Taylor - who wrote the Coventry City anthem Go For It - and Paul Arnold from The Overlanders.

After the party, Pete said: "The launch party was perfect. It was great that people supported not only myself, but the book and Coventry music - That's what it's all about!"

With music and photos reflecting Coventry and Warwickshire's rich musical history, a great night was had by all.

Pete will be signing copies of his book on Saturday, 20 October at Borders, Arena Park, Coventry from 12-2pm and on Saturday, 27 October at Waterstones, Lower Precinct, Coventry from 12-2pm.
