With more and more traffic on the road, and now that Spring has sprung, there's never been a better time to leave the car at home and get on your bike! It's not just your health that will benefit, but the environment will be better off too. From 30 April to 5 May, CSV Action at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire will be asking you to polish off your pedals and spruce up your saddle as we look at the history of the bike in Coventry, hear some inspiring Me and My Bike stories and join Annie Othen as she looks at the debate of the bike versus the car. If you missed out on cycling proficiency whilst at school or maybe you just want to boost your bike riding confidence, then join Tony Benn (Cycle Training Co-ordinator) from Coventry City Council for our FREE two hour class from 6pm, including:- - Basic bike maintenance
- Basic bike control
- Road skills theory

BBC Big Bike RideSaturday, 5 May - 11am, Coventry War Memorial Park, car park nearest to the Kenilworth Road entrance. Starting at the Memorial Park, we'll be making our way to Abbey Fields in Kenilworth. There'll be time for tea and ice cream in the Paradise Cafe before heading back through Stoneleigh to Coventry. There may also be a surprise visit from Colin the Woodpecker our station mascot who'll be flying over for an ice lolly and to help repair any punctures! Bob Brolly's Big Bike ChallengeFrom Monday, 30 April to Friday 4, May, pop into the Open Centre in Priory Place, Coventry to see our mini collection of bikes through the years on loan from the Transport Museum. From 1pm each day witness Bob Brolly (our afternoon presenter on from 1-4pm) as we challenge him to ride Penny Farthing, a Bone-Shaker and a '70's Chopper! You can also call us for a free On Yer Bike pack. This includes a cycle map and guide for Coventry and other cycling leaflets.
