Pets Party

We're celebrating the furry and feathered members of the family with three special days of activities and on-air coverage between 8 and 10 March. And hopefully we'll clear up the question as to which is the best - cats or dogs? You decide!

Celebrate your pet by sending us a photo or telling us about their animal antics.

If your cat's puuuurfect, or your dog's completely barking, make sure you let us know!

Send us your pet's best pics! email: [email protected]

As well as our photo gallery, there'll be an art class held at the Open Lounge and an information and advice surgery in the Open Centre to help owners get up to scratch.

And don't forget Trish Adudu's dog walk on Saturday, 10 March!

As for best pet, here are some CATegories to get you started: Best meow, most looks-like-a-celebrity, best trick, best bark, most looks-like-owner. Or how about best dressed?

Thursday, 8 March

12-3pm - Draw your furry friends at the new BBC Open Lounge in Nuneaton Library. A fun and FREE art workshop where you can draw or paint your pet.

Friday, 9 March

1-3pm - Information afternoon in the Open Centre. Drop in for expert advice on all aspects of animal ownership, from choosing your pet through to proper care.

Saturday, 10 March

Don’t miss Trish Adudu - she'll be undertaking a mammoth dog walk at the Memorial Park in Coventry. Bring your dog and meet at the main car park from 10.15am to take part.

There'll be special prizes to win including Trish’s Dog Adudus (pooper scoopers to us mere mortals!).

Dogs are definately the best. What do cats do? They sleep and eat!! Dogs are definately man's best friend. Dogs will protect you, cats will scratch you. I vote for dogs.

shelley robson
my dog pickles is the best pet, he wakes me up every morning, no need for an alarm clock.I call him my brother.

Definitely cats - they clean themselves, catch mice for you, don't have to be walked, look lovely, sleep most of the time and mine play with me all the time just like dogs do! Plus they are very entertaining to watch when they catch spider s and daddy long legs - a definite plus as I'm afraid of them. You wouldn't catch a dog jumping up to catch them!

San
Dogs are so loveable and always by your side aiming to please you and they also keep you fit by going for lots of walkies.

Cats. All the cats that have graced me with their presence know when Im upset and if im cold. Also if Im reading a really boring book or newspaper they sit on it so I cant read it anymore, stopping me slipping in to a comatose situation.

Heather
Cats, cats, cats - they are soooo superior to dogs! They are loving and full of character, but don't run around in circles chasing their own tails, and don't get hours of entertainment from running after a stick!!!

Mrs Pea
Definitely cats. They don't need to be washed or walked. They look beautiful, reduce blood pressure and are very loving.

Karen

daniel and jamie stones
