If you cast your mind back to the summer you may remember the start of our search for a poet laureate for BBC Coventry and Warwickshire. After a flood of entries, and some rigorous work by our panel of judges, the search has ended with the appointment of the wonderful Jo Roberts. Over the coming months, you'll be able to hear Jo and her work on many different BBC Coventry and Warwickshire programmes but you can find out a little more about her here with her questionnaire. Name: Jo Roberts From: Coventry Star sign: Capricorn What has you career involved so far? I have always worked in the design industry, first as a graphic designer then in studio administration. Writing has always been a priority from copywriting for marketing to poetry, stories and plays. Made it to the last ten in Coventry and Warwickshire’s Poet Idol. Written, directed and recorded a play for hospital radio. What will being poet laureate involve? As Poet Laureate I will be sharing with listeners a passion for poetry and writing, helping then realise that poetry is for everyone, encourage them to write as individuals or groups and to gain enjoyment from this ancient craft What are you looking forward to most?
