Building bridgesBridges have been around for just under three years and were formed by three friends from college. Tom Clarke (vocals and guitar), Steve Golder (bass) and Liam Watts (drums) all studied a popular music course at Warwickshire College’s Leamington Spa site. Tom hails from Kenilworth and ditched his violin and piano in favour of the electric guitar. Like Tom, Steve taught himself to play his chosen instrument, the bass guitar, from the age of 13. And Liam from Coventry has been banging the drums for a similar length of time. ![]() Kasabian Finally together as a trio the boys set about performing their growling distortion heavy rock music and started to play at venues organised by their institution. It was after a memorable gig at Warwick General Hospital that the band decided to take control of things themselves and through the help of a manager (Liam’s dad Martin) Bridges have grown. Gigging on their ownAlready the boys have had a number of high profile gigs. They played at Coventry’s 2004 Godiva Festival along with the likes of Kasabian, The Datsuns and Goldie Looking Chain. They’ve also supported the Terrorvision spawned Malibu Stacey at the Colosseum as well as The Vaults, Dogs and 10,000 Things at venues around the region. And to cap it all - they’re all still teenagers! Listen to the bandIf you missed the lads at the Jug and Jester in Leamington Spa then fear not - we've streamed their excellent track Walking On Fire. The boys have some solid tunes to back up their growing reputation for being a quality live act. ![]() Bridges And we reckon success wouldn’t be a bridge too far.
