The Circle
James Peakman

Going full circle

We’ve got into a bit of a spin with our mod-tastic band of the month for March, The Circle.

The Circle’s jangly guitar rock with a 60’ feel has been belting out of our music venues for two years since being born out of The Faid – a more indie focused band.

As new players came and went, so increased the band’s experimentation for a sound they were all comfortable with.

It’s fairly safe to say that James Peakman (vocals/guitar), Gary Driver (lead guitar), Dale Driver (bass guitar) and Sean Marley (drums) have settled with modern rock and roll.

As regulars at The Jailhouse and Colosseum in Coventry as well as the Nag’s Head in Nuneaton there are usually plenty of chances to catch the boys live. From Bob Dylan through to The Coral they draw on seemingly all of the music they’ve grown up listening to.

If it sounds like your bag then you may want along to the Colly on Saturday, 5 March. The Circle play with fans of Kate and This is Seb Clarke having already appeared on the same bill as South and the hotly tipped Nine Black Alps.

The Circle also played at February’s mammoth Tsunami Benefit Gig held at the Colosseum which featured over 40 local acts.

Listen to the band

Although the four-piece have rarely played outside of our area, they’ve been busy tightening up their craft, as is evident in their new release – a six track EP which showcases a range the boys’ talents and ear for a decent tune too.
