Not only The Verve, KT Tunstall and The Kaiser Chiefs, but also rock group The Raconteurs have been announced as the latest Eden Sessions headliner for 2008.

Jack White's band will play at the biomes on Sunday 29 June.

The band is comprised of White, who is also the lead singer and guitarist with the White Stripes, solo artist Brendan Benson, and Patrick Keeler and Jack 'LJ' Lawrence, the drummer and bassist from The Greenhornes.

"The Raconteurs come with a great reputation as one of the top bands in the US," says Peter Hampel, Eden's Creative Director.

"We are delighted that Jack White and his all-star band have agreed to join this year's line-up in what will be a great weekend of live music with The Verve at the end of June."

'Broken Boy Soldiers', The Raconteurs' debut album, was released in 2006 with 'Steady as She Goes' as its first single. The record entered the UK album chart at number two and US Billboard Chart at number seven.

Mojo magazine awarded it their Album of the Year prize and it was nominated in the Best Rock Album category at the Grammies in 2007.

March 2008 saw the release of The Raconteurs' second album, 'Consolers of the Lonely', which, like its predecessor, hit the top ten in both the UK and US.

In previous years, the Sessions have seen performances from recent Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse, acclaimed three-piece rock band Muse, dance supremos Basement Jaxx, Britpop legends Pulp, former Beach Boy Brian Wilson and London-based singer-songwriter Lilly Allen.
