Nutty has lead a varied and interesting life. A well known and respected fisherman from Cagwith he pioneered the ring netting techniques now used by Cornish fisherman to catch pilchards.  Nutty aboard his boat He had such success with the ring nets that he sank his beloved boat the Penrose due to a football stadium size catch of fish. He later tried his hand at catching sharks but this landed him in hot water with conservationists. A media feeding frenzy assumed making international headlines and death threats followed for Nutty.
