It's been a great year for BBC Radio Cornwall's Laurence Reed. Just weeks after being honoured for his consumer journalism, Laurence has taken bronze in the prestigious Frank Gillard Local Radio Awards. Enjoy our photos from the party.

There was plenty of partying on Saturday 24 November as a team from BBC Radio Cornwall attended BBC Local Radio's very own Oscar ceremony.

BBC Radio Cornwall presenter Laurence Reed was awarded a bronze in the Frank GIllard Local Radio Awards for his documentary about the killing of Delabole pensioner Joan Rodham.

This year's Frank Gillard Awards, were extra special, marking the 40th anniversary of the corporation's local radio services.

BBC Radio Leicester began broadcasting in November 1967, followed by Sheffield, Merseyside, Stoke, Nottingham, Brighton, Durham and Leeds.

BBC Radio Cornwall is gearing up to celebrate its 25th birthday in January 2008.

The BBC's director general, Mark Thompson hosted the awards on 24 November.

The awards are named in honour of the founder of BBC Local Radio in England, Frank Gillard, who died in 1998.
