There was plenty of partying on Saturday 24 November as a team from BBC Radio Cornwall attended BBC Local Radio's very own Oscar ceremony. BBC Radio Cornwall presenter Laurence Reed was awarded a bronze in the Frank GIllard Local Radio Awards for his documentary about the killing of Delabole pensioner Joan Rodham. BBC Radio Cornwall is gearing up to celebrate its 25th birthday in January 2008. The BBC's director general, Mark Thompson hosted the awards on 24 November.
