Hemma po henna...
... answers from Joy Robinson

Joy answers the phones for Cornwall Connected every Sunday. She took some time out to fill in the Hemma po Henna questionnaire...
Cornish or British?
Definitely Cornish. I live next door to where I was born in the lovely village of Crantock on the north coast. When my second son was due to be born we were in married quarters in Torpoint and I opted to have him at home rather than in hospital as I would have had to go to England, (over the water to Plymouth). I'm a true Cornish Maid!

Meat or fish?
I love both but you can't beat fresh mackerel just landed at the quay. They are so tasty that all you need to do is grill them for a few minutes and serve them with new potatoes and salad - scrummy

Coast or country?
It has to be coast, I love the sea and anything to do with it, whether its out on a fishing boat or just throwing myself into the waves in the early evening in the summer when the sun has warmed the Atlantic rollers. How about those amazing sunsets with the sun sinking below the calm sea, we have a local where you can sit with your beloved and a glass of wine and watch the day slip into evening - very romantic

Dogs or cats?
We are a cat family, we have two, Merlin, a black and white moggy who is almost 21 ands rules the roost. Abby is a 6 year old male who could be the beast of Bodmin Moor, he is huge but frightened of his own shadow. They both love to be brushed and as soon as they see either of us sit down they are there waiting to be cosseted. They are totally spoilt and have the run of the house. I hope I come back as a cat the next time round!

St Ives or St Agnes?
This is a hard one as I love them both, St Agnes for the amazing views from the Beacon and the lovely friendly village, and St Ives for the shops, the fish and chips and the ice creams. If I had to really choose it would be St Agnes - or would it be St Ives? I shall have to visit them both again and then decide!

'Obby 'Oss or Flora?
This has to be 'Obby 'Oss as I love the idea of the pagan fertility rite marking the beginning of summer. I was always told as a young girl that I must never be caught under the skirts of the 'Oss or I would end up pregnant before the year was out. The town of Padstow takes on a magical atmosphere on May Day with the blue and red 'Oss and their followers dancing through the flower bedecked streets.

TV or radio?
Well, this has to be radio, in my former job I spent at least 8 hours a day on the road and Radio Cornwall was my constant companion. I felt as if I knew everyone, but never thought that one day I would be lucky enough to become a member of staff.

'Trelawney' or 'Camborne Hill'?
Without a doubt, its Trelawny, a Cornish Male Choir singing the Cornish Anthem can't be beaten, it always reduces me to tears, the song not the choir! I was born in a house called Trelawny, so my parents felt the same as me.

Tea or coffee?
Coffee, unless its with a pasty, then it has to be a mug of tea, I don't normally take sugar but always put a spoonfull in when my cuppa goes with my pasty, helps the digestion you know!

Positive or negative?
Positive of course, how can you be any other when you live in this wonderful county? Each season brings new wonders, the rebirth of spring, the influx of friends and family to share the balmy evenings with a glass of wine and the smell of the barby in the summer. The gorgeous golden colours of the autumn leaves and walking along the seashore on a stormy winters day wrapped up in the new scarf, gloves and hat received with thanks on Christmas Day. The wonder of Christmas Eve and Easter Day when the village Church is full and you know that all is well with the world.
