Monday 7th October On a flying visit to Cornwall, the Fame Academy winner, Alex Parks paid David White a visit at BBC Radio Cornwall. She flew down from London on Monday to spend some time with friends and family before having to fly back up to London on Tuesday afternoon to appear on MTV. But we laid on a special welcome in the morning for Cornwall's most famous Cornish pixie! As Alex pulled up in her chauffeur driven Merc, her fans gathered round to congratulate her. Even the bakers next door turned up with some cake for her! | | David talks to Alex live on air as she's welcomed into the newsroom |
She was quickly rushed into reception where David White was waiting to interview her. As they walked through the newsrooms doors Alex was greeted with cheers, clapping, balloons, party poppers and Champagne. Once in the studio the interview started and it wasn't just the bags under Alex's eyes that gave away she'd been partying hard since winning fame Academy. David offered her a glass of Champaign, "No way! Especially not today!" Alex refused. She explained why she couldn't take any more drink "I got back to the hotel [on Saturday evening]. I sat down with my family at 5 in the morning and had an hour with them. Went to bed for an hour or so. Got up. [Then I was] recording in the studio all day and then I went to a party." Alex hasn't even had chance to stay in her apartment in London or drive her car. But she denied rumors that she'd be sharing the spacious pad with her ex-Academy classmate Carolynne. | | Alex talks live on BBC Radio Cornwall. |
Now under management, Alex's first single was a secret. But when we played it on air she couldn't help herself and told us it's her own composition called "Maybe that's What It Takes".
