StevePemberton![]() Steve Pemberton is the creator of such memorable grotesques as over-attentive German pedagogue Herr Lipp, pen-obsessed Restart Officer Pauline Campbell-Jones and toad-obsessed Harvey Denton. He came to acting at school before studying drama at Bretton Hall Arts Campus in West Yorkshire, where he met fellow members of the League of Gentlemen Reece Shearsmith and Mark Gatiss. After college Pemberton worked in fringe theatre. By the mid 1990s, however, Gatiss had introduced his friends to Jeremy Dyson and The League of Gentlemen had formed, going on to produce a Perrier Award-winning show on the Edinburgh Fringe before garnering more laurels on Radio 4 and BBC TWO. Since the series finished Pemberton has gone on to several straight roles, including parts in "Blackpool", "Shameless", "Hotel Babylon" and Dr Bessmer in "Agatha Christie's Poirot - Death on the Nile". He has also appeared in the League's stage tours and their film "The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse".
