Whenever there's a tall, posh-voiced woman needed, Miranda Hart will be there.
Her recent television includes new series of French and Saunders, Nighty Night (where she played the 'racist' receptionist, Beth), Absolutely Fabulous (including the role of Yoko), The Vicar of Dibley, William and Mary, and very memorably the third series of Smack the Pony. She wrote and performed in a couple of sketches and a number of video diaries throughout the series including the infamous "basically, I've got a fanny the size of a bucket, so if anyone can help in that area..." character.
Forgoing the normal stand-up circuit for more character-based comedy, she's written her own theatre material for the Edinburgh festival. Her one-woman shows include: Miranda Hart - Throbs, It's All About Me and Miranda Hart's House Party.
Watch out for a repeat of the Alpen ads. Miranda notoriously eats cat litter instead of Alpen - she likes to see this advert as a short film or sitcom because it's what she is always recognised from in the street!
