How much should you tip?

We don't tip in China, but people in the UK do. Are there any rules about tipping?   You Lin, Beijing

In the UK, when people go to a restaurant for a meal or a hairdresser for a hair cut, they often leave a tip.

In China, there's no such rule, you pay exactly what's written on the bill.

So what does tipping mean for the British people? How can you tell when to tip or not. We put your questions to our British culture expert Jonathan Reading.
