Playtime Island app competition: Terms and Conditions

1. The BBC has a code of conduct for competitions. You can read this here

2. The prize for the winning entry is to have the opportunity to design a home for the Go Jetters. The winning picture will be used to inspire a design for the Playtime Island App.

3. Entries will be accepted between Monday 14th of November 2016 at 10 AM and Noon on Monday 5th of December 2016. Entries will not be accepted after this time. Entries will not be returned so please keep a copy. The BBC cannot take any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction, including but not limited to any affected postal services, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded. 

4. The Judging Criteria:

Imaginative – entries should be fantastical, creative and surprising. If the entrant were a Go Jetter what would their disco-geography HQ look like?

Original - entrant’s ideas should be unique – their own brilliant idea unlike any other.

Exciting and funky - entrant’s ideas should excite and inspire the judges as much as the Go Jetters’ adventures do.

Geographic - entrant’s ideas should fit in really well in both the Go Jetters’ world and in the Playtime Island.

Becolourful, bold and original.

Your submission shouldn’t: – Use any words, Include the Go Jetters characters, Be the Vroomster or Jetpad OR christmas-themed

5. This competition is open to children that are resident in the UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) and aged between 3 and 7 (on 5th December 2016) only. Overseas entries will not be considered and the BBC reserves the right to request proof of age.

6. Entrants will be judged in one age band 3-7. Only one entry per person is permitted. If multiple entries are received only the first will be accepted.

7. Entrants should download and complete an entry form from the CBeebies website. This should be submitted along with the picture. Entry forms should either by typed or written in clearly legible handwriting. Entries can only be submitted by post to the following address: CBeebies Playtime Island Competition, Bridge House 2nd Floor, Media City UK, Salford M50 2BH.

8. Entries must be entirely entrants' own original work. They must be responsible for all of the creative ideas, and they must have drawn the picture themselves using felt tip pens, coloured pencils, crayons or paint… Not montage, collage or papier mache.

9. We cannot accept applications made by teachers or schools on behalf of their class.

10. By signing and submitting the entry form, entrants' parents or guardians are deemed to have given consent for the entry to be published free of charge by the BBC in all media, including television, print and internet, for all purposes as it wishes.

11. For editorial reasons, it is necessary for the BBC to acquire ownership of all rights in the winning design and it is a condition of entry that the winner’s parent/guardian will sign any additional documentation in order to assign all rights to the BBC and to waive all moral rights the winner may have in the winning design. If you have any concerns about this requirement, we would advise you not to enter.

12. All entries will be viewed by BBC moderators. Any entry that contains abusive, violent or offensive material, is not suitable for use under the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines, does not meet the criteria set out above or is incomplete will not be considered.

13. Entries will be judged by a panel selected by CBeebies. The BBC's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted.

14. Shortlisted entrants will be contacted between Tuesday 13th and Friday 16th December 2016 for verification.

15. The winner will be contacted on or around Friday 16th December 2016. If they cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, the BBC reserves the right to contact the next best entry. The winner and their family must keep the result confidential until it is announced by BBC in January 2017.

16. The prize may only be taken as stated and cannot be deferred or transferred. There will be no cash alternatives.

17. The BBC reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these Terms and Conditions or to withhold or withdraw the prize if in its opinion entries do not reach the required standard.

18. This competition is not open to anyone closely related to employees of the BBC or Blue Zoo, their associated companies, anyone who has been involved in the creation or production of the Go Jetters brand or any person involved in the running of the competition.

19. The BBC processes all personal data it holds in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. It will process the personal data you provide on this form for the purposes of running the competition, and will not share your data with any external third party without your consent or as required by law. 20. The BBC reserves the right to cancel or amend this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside its control. In this event, a notice will be posted on the CBeebies Website.

21. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
