The Bravest Dog Of World War Two?
Author Kimberlie Hamilton reads a story from her new book Rebel Dogs: Heroic Tales Of Trusty Hounds to Henry.
Khan The War Hero
Kimberlie's new book tells the amazing true story of Khan, the brave German Shepherd who served in the British Army during World War 2.

Whilst on a daring landing craft assault, Khan's craft was hit by heavy artillery bombardment. The craft capsized, throwing Khan and his handler Jimmy Muldoon into the water.

Khan swam to shore, but, when he realised that his best friend Jimmy was still in the water, Khan bravely dived back in and swam to rescue him, dragging him to the safety of the shore.

After the war, Khan was awarded the Dickin Medal for bravery and moved to live in Scotland with his best friend Jimmy.

Khan - you are a hero! Woof Woof!
