My DG Series 8, Ep2 - Tyler Replies

This is Tyler and this is my take on what happened in the DG this week.

Have you ever worried about doing the right thing?

Thank you for your comments. Read some of my replies below.

U18090805's comments read - It's hard to know your doing the right thing from the wrong and it's hard not to become a 'sheep' as the sayings goes, but I think as Tracy Beaker says believe in your heart but don't loose your head. Tyler's reply reads - Thanks U18090805. Tracy has a saying for every occasion – I reckon she should write a book!
U17948319's comments read - I would of done what I thought is right because even though you want to make your friends happy they aren't always right. Tyler's replies read - You got that straight, U17948319. I thought supporting Jody meant going along with what she wanted, but supporting your friends is also about finding kind ways to stand up for the right thing. It wasn’t in anyone’s best interests for me to keep silent for any longer. I questioned myself for a minute, like I always do, but then I knew what had to happen.
PurpleLlama's comments read - Sometimes I worry about doing the right thing because I'm worried it will have a big affect on what i'm trying to do. But, sometimes that is what needs to be done. Well done for choosing the write thing. Tyler's replies read - Ah, thank you PurpleLlama – I appreciate the support. I doubted myself massively, but I knew there was no way I could carry on just supporting Jody without questioning her.
U18011790's comments read - It's hard to make a the right decision sometimes. Especially if your a role model to younger children. Sometimes you have to chose what is right, even if it doesn't not make you the most popular. Often some of my friends will play practical jokes. But sometimes it goes too far. What they are doing I not dangerous to them, but sometimes the younger children try to copy, and they could hurt themselves. If I tell then I will look like I cant take a joke but I know that the younger children shouldn't be copying... Should I tell and risk getting my friends in trouble? Tyler's reply reads - Hey, U18011790, so one thing I’ve learned in all the years of growing up with the many different people I’ve known in The DG is it’s always better to let an adult know if there are things happening that worry you, or which you are uncomfortable with. I’ve had a lot of advice this week about doing the right thing – it’s so important to stand up for things that we know aren’t right.
bookreaderdancer's comments read - I'm always worrying whether I'm doing the right thing, sometimes what's right, is for the greater good but not yourself, but sometimes you need to make sacrifices. Sometimes you need to think about the long-term impacts of what you're doing, not just the short-term impacts to make a fully formed decision. Tyler's replies read - Thanks Book reader dancer. It’s hard to stand up sometimes and make a difference, when you don’t know if you’re doing the right thing or not. Thinking ahead to the future is a great tip. I’m going to do that next time I’ve got a big dilemma to consider. It will help me when I'm unsure, which I often am!
U18085582's comments read - Sometimes it is hard trying to be the oldest and make sure that everyone does the right decision. But as long as you know that yours is better for everyone, THAT'S FINE! We always stick by our friends because we fear that if we go against them, we may upset them. But choosing the right thing is a must and i am sure that Jody would respect that, even if she didn't straight away….Sometimes, you don't do the right things for the people you love. You could upset them for going against them. If they were sane, i'm sure they wouldn't care for you choosing the right thing over them and it is alright to make mistakes Tyler. Follow your heart! Tylers reply reads - Hey, U18085582, you’re right about Jody – we got there in the end and, now that she’s (can you believe it?) APOLOGISED, we’re closer than we’ve ever been. I could not have seen that coming when she was really mad with me for going against her, but it turned out alright eventually. I’ve made so many mistakes and, no doubt, I’m going to keep making them from time-to-time, as I grow up. It’s all part of the process of becoming a better person, I reckon.
U18088421's comments reads - I've been worried about doing the right thing loads of times. You just don't want to be mean to your friends but know sometimes what they have done is wrong - in my case. Tyler needs to do the right thing too, because he knows that's what he needs to do. Tyler's reply reads - Yes, U18088421, I did know what I needed to do and I spent more energy worrying about it, than it would have taken to just get on and do it! I've always been someone who hesitates - understatement - but I'm changing... Telling Jody she was wrong was really important and I was worried she wouldn’t speak to me anymore, but in the end, she apologised – who knew!
Aaisha786's comments - I realise and understand that it isn’t easy to look after the little ones, because then everyone is relying on you! You should really to the right thing even though others may not agree. Love you. Tyler's reply - It is a lot, Aaisha786, to be that older role model in The DG. But, you know what? I had older role models, likeBailey and Carmen, while I was growing up, so it’s time for me to step up and help the younger ones now. I want to be someone people look up to.
