Cambridge is probably best known as a university town steeped in tradition, but the bustling city is also home to numerous high-tech companies, science parks and research centres.
There are a wealth of places for tourists to visit including the many historical colleges with King's and its college chapel perhaps the most famous. There are many museums and galleries, and a multitude of magnificent buildings and architecture to discover.
Cambridge is a fantastic place to just 'chill out', for both residents and tourists alike. The city is dotted with greens and commons, often situated by the river, and great places for picnics or a quiet drink.
Slightly further afield are the beautiful Botanic Gardens, the Orchard in Grantchester and the American Cemetery in Madingley.

Market Square - Those who enjoy shopping in a traditional open air market will want to visit Cambridge's colourful and historic market.
The Fitzwilliam Museum - contains magnificent collections of art and antiquites of national and international importance. Free admission!
Punting - Take a punt along the river in a flat-bottomed boat using a pole to steer you forward. Alternatively find a riverside spot and laugh yourself silly watching punters fall in!
The Backs - refer to a stretch of river behind the famous University colleges that are set amongst spacious lawns and gardens and are covered in crocuses and bluebells in spring.
King's College - is the most famous of the colleges, perhaps because of its amazing chapel. There are daily services by the choir who are also broadcast live on Christmas Eve.
The Bridge of Sighs - inspired by the famous bridge in Venice over which condemned prisoners sighed as they were led to their deaths! It joins the courts of St John's College.
Cambridge University Botanic Garden - houses over 10,000 labelled plant species in a 40 acre beautifully landscaped setting less than a mile from the city centre.
American Cemetery - Madingley - set in 30.5 acres it commemorates service men and women who lost their lives in WW II serving as crew of British based American aircraft.
