Laugh til your sides split at the Cambridge Comedy Festival, running in the city from June 17th until July 3rd. With 14 comedians premiering work they will then take to the Edinburgh Festival, it's the place to be this summer!

Cambridge's longest-running comedy club, Jesterlarf Comedy Club, invites you to the brand new Cambridge Comedy Festival.

Fourteen of the best stand-up comedians in the world will be performing for the first time the shows they'll then be taking to the famous Edinburgh Festival, and with two shows aimed at children, it's something the whole family can get involved in.

Unless otherwise stated, all shows take place in the South Suite of the University Centre, and start at 8.30pm. Tickets are available from the Junction box office, on 01223 511511.

Sunday 17th June: John Ryan

If kids are smarter than Mum and Dad, why aren't they in charge? Comedian and writer John Ryan will help you work out the answer in his show Kids are Best! Suitable for children aged 5-11. Shows stars at 1pm & 4pm.

Sunday 17th June: Jim Jefferies

The outrageous and brilliant Australian brings his brash and confrontational new show to the city!

Monday 18th June: Phil Nichol

The 2006 Perrier/if.comeddie Award winner is back with an all new show. Expect the trademark high-octane verbal gymnastics!

Tuesday 19th June: Glenn Wool

Everyone makes them, no-one keeps them. Wool will talk about them for an hour - or will he? Don't miss the hugely talented Canadian in action.

Friday 22nd June: Charlie Chuck & Mandy Muden

Performing as part of the "All New Variety Pack", which will be touring the UK in October.

Saturday 23rd June: Reginald D Hunter

Triple Perrier Award nominee and possibly the coolest man in comedy presents another ultra smooth offering.

Sunday 24th June: Rhod Gilbert

The Welsh misery returns with his new show "Who's Eaten Gilbert's Grape?". The Independent calls his shows "laugh out very loud stuff"!

Monday 25th June: So You Think You're Funny?

Ever fancied trying stand-up? If you think you've got what it takes, and you have eight minutes of original material, this could be your chance at fame! To enter click on the Cambridge Comedy Festival link at the top of the page. (This event takes place at the CB2 cafe on Norfolk Street.)

Thursday 28th June: Simon Munnery

Something of a coup for the Festival is a rare live appearance from the surreal and absurdist genius Simon Munnery aka 'Alan Parker: Urban Warrior' and 'The League Against Tedium'.

Friday 29th June: Andrew Lawrence

Andrew previews his new and often shocking show, Social Leprosy for Beginners and Improvers. This show starts at 7.30pm.

Friday 29th June: Luke Robers & Nadia Kamil

Local lad and ex-Footlights Luke presents this brilliant one-hour double hander show, starting at 9.30pm.

Sunday 1st July: Men in Coats

This hilarious visual comedy show is suitable for kids of all ages, they are like a real life cartoon double act. Shows are at 1pm and 4.30pm.

Sunday 1st July: We Are Klang

One of the UK's best live sketch shows, with sketches and songs from three of the most delightful idiots you will ever meet.

Monday 2nd July: Paul Sinha

Following last year's If.comeddie/Perrier award nomination, Paul Sinha returns to deliver his unique take on life, death, binge drinking, trivia fanaticism, and finding redemption on the roulette tables of Las Vegas.

Tuesday 3rd July: Micky Flanagan

Flanagan's eagerly anticipated first full-length show takes you on a hilarious journey through the ups and downs of his life from Billingsgate fish-porter to successful stand-up.
