Did you see the bit in When Harry Met Sally when they did the Oklahoma number? I bet you knew all the words? It's a phenomenal conundrum; I don't know anyone who has ever seen Oklahoma the whole way through, but they always know all the tunes! | | They'll be dancin' a-plenty! |
I bet you can hum along to 'Oh What a Beatiful Morning' and give it a bit of wellie on 'Whip Crack Away'...oops, sorry, think I'm mixing up my musicals here. Anyway, point is, we all know some of Oklahoma's tunes in one form or other. And now, Oklahoma's coming to town, so you can don a checked shirt, chew on a little hay and get to sway with cowhand Curly and practise your long 'OOOOOOOO's'! Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society are bringing Oklahoma to the Cambridge Arts Theatre where the story of cowhand Curly and his love for farm girl Laurey plays out against a backdrop of jealousy and rivalry from farmhand Judd. Passion, plight and pie create a super-singing night of musical theatre that'll have you digging out your cowboy boots and cracking the odd 'yee-ha' on the way home! |
