The Sunday Show

Here's something to ponder on a Sunday morning... Want to know more about faith and religion in your county? Then give the Sunday Show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire a try!

What's on this week's show? Sunday 27th April, 2008

In Sunday Breakfast this week Catherine will be looking at life on the edges with:

Dangerous poetry

Alice Goodman, our main guest, is a librettist (who writes the words for operas, darlings). She'll be talking about everything from death threats, following a particularly powerful opera, to dog training with her beloved lurchers and her faith journey, which has taken her from her Jewish upbringing in America to becoming a priest in the Anglican Church and chaplain here in Cambridge. She's fab!

Susan tucks in!

Join Susan and Catherine for breakfast

Deeping St James

Are turning on the tap and you can find out how...

Moulton Chapel

Is a village with a Methodist church seriously into tulips - more from Alan, the minister there...

Messing about on the river

Outwell is your place and David and Vivienne your helms-people in another trip on the waterways bringing faith onto the bankside.

All this and Music in St Neots, economics for the poor, and perhaps even an Orthodox Metropolitan… join us 7am - 9am on Sunday morning

The most hated family
I have been watching this documentrary I was abused by a stright person. the gay people? the gay people I have met don't care, the people i know don't care it's what you are that matters. If there is a god it's what you are that matters! if you love! these people do not hate but these people do not love-they have no love they have nothing. They are lost not only to them selfs but to any God that might have lisdened.

i do not agree with the banning of the burka in any country so i dont see why it should be banned in Germany. everybody is entitled to wear and think how they want so why should it be up to somebody to tell them otherwise. i believe that if the women were in great pain they would of spoken out by now but the fact that they are content to wear it should not mean that they cannot. i woudl also like to add that looking at a woman covered from head to toe is a lot more respectful than her walking around half naked.

I met Thomas last year - A very wise man who is quietly doing a lot of good. Anything that helps his wisdom touch those who need help is a great thing. Next stop for Thomas should be 'Thought for the day' on Radio 4!

I loved the life coach you had on - Thomas Hillas. Are you planning on having him on again?

hi sue and co- re: the monastery series . I work in spck bookshop- we have had folk in asking @ benedictine rule etc.cos of tv and our window dsplay. 2 of us are watching it & think it is brilliant because it shows people strugging and learning about faith. you don't see that on tv normally- prob is the 1st time the men have had a chance to have time to think about this.
