Voices: Turning words into action
Saima Mohsin and Liz Johnson.
"You are our viewers and listeners and we need to get to know you and allow you to get to know us."

Liz Johnson and I will be working on Voices for Points West.
Saima and Liz will be working before, during and after the St Paul's Carnival.
Many of you will already know about this new BBC initiative called Voices.

We want to hear what it's really like living in a certain community, getting to know the people we don't normally talk to.

I will be co-ordinating the voices project for Points West, coming out to meet you and hear your voice. Liz Johnson will be joining me with her trusty camera.

So what exactly will we be doing? We'll be following the St Paul's Carnival from the planning stages to the actual events. Along the way we'll be getting to know the people of St Paul's.

We'll meet the kids who make the costumes, the committee members who make the decisions and work so hard to get the show on the road, the people who run the stalls and so much more.

We want to portray St Paul's in a positive light. It's your chance to tell us about all the positive events that go on there and show off all the community has to offer.

Secondly we'll be working in conjunction with the local radio stations in the west, covering some of their projects and filming some of the people they meet in their area to be broadcast on Points West.

We'll be keeping in close contact with Radio Swindon, Radio Wiltshire, Somerset Sound, Radio Bristol and Radio Gloucestershire to get around the region to hear your voice as much as possible.

Voices is your chance to tell your story in your own words.

We hope you enjoy watching.
