Return of the big green ogre
News image
ShrekDreamworks' big green monster returns to the big silver screen in July, as Shrek 2 opens in Bristol.

And we have some monster goodies to give away in our Shrek Celebration competition.
Something to shout about!

In this sequel to Dreamworks' Oscar winning animated film Shrek, the fairytale continues as everyone's favourite ogre faces his greatest challenge of all - his in-laws!

Joining the all-star cast of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, Shrek 2 has a host of new characters.

Shrek and Puss In Boots
A monster cuddle for Puss In Boots

These include Julie Andrews and John Cleese as Princess Fiona's royal parents, Antonio Banderas as the sword-wielding Puss In Boots, Rupert Everett as Prince Charming and Jennifer Saunders as the Fairy Godmother.

Shrek 2 sees the irritable ogre newly-wed and happy. But Prince Charming wants the princess for himself and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.

And of course there's more more animated spoofing of classic kids' tales.

The film has already been something of a hit in the US where it brought in $108m, making it the largest-ever opening weekend for an animated film, beating Pixar's Finding Nemo by over $30m.

Princess Fiona and Shrek
Can Shrek and his princess live happily ever after?

You can catch it in Bristol from July 2nd 2004.

Competition

And so to our competition where we have some glorious goody bags to give away which could include T-shirts, books, magazines and even special Shrek ears!

To stand a chance of winning you just need to answer the following question.

What character does Eddie Murphy play in the Shrek films?

The competition has now closed and the winners notified.

The answer was Donkey.
