A national tour of The Birds by Mamaloucos Circus has been postponed because of technical difficulties.
The show, which brings together circus and theatre in the story of a brave new bird world, was due to visit Bristol in September.
A circus tent was to be erected in Queen's Square for the performance, which formed part of the city's month-long Dance Live event.
However the organisers say the production has faced "more technical difficulties than we originally anticipated".
The company has apologised for any inconvenience and hopes to re-stage the show in Spring 2003.
Marathon help needed
An army of volunteers is needed to help with this year's BUPA Bristol Half Marathon.
The race, which will bring thousands of runners and spectators to the city, takes place on the morning of Sunday September 22th.
Up to 150 people, aged over 16, are needed to act as marshals, hand out medals, help with inquiries and assist the 7,000 runners along the route.
As well as getting a unique look behind the scenes, volunteers will be supporting the work of the official race charities - the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and St Peter's Hospice.
Volunteers will be needed from 9 am to 2 pm for between three to five hours.
Anyone interested in volunteering or requiring further information should contact Emma Ferrante: Tel: 0117 922 3528 or e-mail: emma_ferrante@bristol-city.gov.uk
Concrete art with gusto
An exhibition of contemporary art is being held at Cafe Gusto on St Michael's Hill over the next six months.
The innovative Concrete-Arts project is working to bring the work of local artists to new venues across the city.
The season kicks off with Guy Denning whose images combine oil painting and collage.
Patagonian fundraiser
A special summer ball is being held at Kings Weston House in Bristol on Friday 6th September.
The event, which includes a glam rock cover band, casino and fireworks, is raising money for a trip to Patagonia in Chile, which will in turn raise funds for Cancer Research.
Tickets are available by calling Georgina or Kath on 0117 9524035.
Freestyle
Muzikbristol is inviting local djs and musicians to hit the decks at The Croft BS2 on Sunday 1st September at an open decks evening.
And all that jazz
One of Bristol's most famous squares is to host a series of lunchtime and early evening jazz gigs.
The free events will run every Friday in Queen Square over the next two weeks.
The series is being sponsored by the City Council and other private companies in the area.
