PresentersYou are in: Bristol > BBC Radio Bristol > Presenters > Richard Lewis ![]() Richard also writes TV and radio scripts Richard LewisJoin Richard and his team every weekday from 2pm until 5pm. The Richard Lewis Show is a corner of the broadcasting world where real life in all its strange and glorious madness prevails. The biggest names in showbiz pop in for a chat too. Only on Richard's show could you hear Brian Blessed discussing nail polish, Noel Edmonds talking hairdos and Richard E Grant revealing which Hollywood stars are short. It's the radio equivalent of standing by the water cooler at work - and you can read more about it via the link below. People come up, drop off a tasty morsel of information or tell a story - often so wildly implausible that you know it can only be true - sip their water and troll off, only to be replaced by someone else with another story. And then there are musical oddities and bizarre bits of trivia to add into the mix – something to lead us down another trail. With celebrity guests, local characters and of course great music to take you through the afternoon. "Yes, there are signposts for listeners to follow but we never say 'this is the way we’re going, come with us or clear off". The best shows are when we begin with tales about falling out of bed and end up talking about buttering sandwiches with Elton John. No celebrity is too big and no subject too silly and our listeners constantly pepper the show with contributions. "We’re happy to talk about anything from The Battle of Rourke’s Drift to Ivor the Engine via Mr Pastry, The Godfather and all-you-can-eat restaurants. "It's a daily enclave of anecdotage, rants, diatribes and tomfoolery." A long-time network television producer and scriptwriter Richard now spends his mornings writing for television and films – and his afternoons behind the microphone. Richard is on-air every weekday between 2pm and 5pm.last updated: 12/11/07 You are in: Bristol > BBC Radio Bristol > Presenters > Richard Lewis ![]() Get in touch: On-air - call a show: 0845 900 5 955 Travel desk: 0845 900 6 955 Action desk: 0845 900 7 955 Text us: 07786 200 955 E-mail us: radio.bristol@bbc.co.uk |
